Fallen Angel has been one of my most successful paintings. Originally painted in 2008, it has resonated with a wide number of people. In 2009 this series of images appeared in the Fantasy Art Bible published by Quarto Books. The idea is to show the stages of development of the painting from reference photo to the final artwork. For this painting, I used a reference photo from the stock of Marcus Ranum on deviant Art. Stock is a good place for people to start and to get reference from. By the time I worked on the Celtic Tarot I no longer used stock, only using original reference work but the the stock providers gave me a very useful starting point.
