Recently I found myself producing portrait paintings in a direction which strayed from my usual Fantasy Art. It started around the time I painted my precious cat Rosie in a painting I called Moongazing. This painting has proved quite popular. And rightly so. Rosie sadly left this mortal plane on 31st January 2025. She was just shy of 21 years old, was a rescue who came to me in her later life and her presence was quite transformational, for both of us.
These are all effectively figure studies in different forms. They are all referenced from photographs I have taken. The hares were photographed on the Stonehenge landscape.
